Meet Swish Dental Founder
Hello,
In my professional life, I founded Swish Dental in Austin with a mission to change people’s perceptions of dentists and empower women in the field. Dentist visits are boring, and with the industry becoming more corporate, the personal touch of a healthcare professional is lost.
Swish is focused on elevating the patient experience through a comfort-centric approach. It is my vision that people will receive care in studios that are friendly, welcoming, and familiar. The offices are designed to reflect the unique characteristics of the Austin neighborhood in which they are located.
Swish innovates at every turn! My goal was to find a local dental group that offers both general and cosmetic dentistry. I am constantly looking for ways to improve our services and quality of care at Swish. We use the most advanced technology.
Swish was intended to be more than a place to get a perfect smile. As well as fixing smiles, we empower patients to feel better about themselves, which promotes healthy living. Additionally, I strive to empower my staff and patients to perform at their best. Swish is committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can experience the comfort and excellence of our care.
Founded in 2017, Swish Dental now has 12 studios and is a local Austin brand I’m very proud of!

Swish employs only the best dental hygienists and dentists from across the country. Swish’s professional team is constantly trained and educated on the latest technology, and our inclusive, patient-focused culture is what sets us apart.
Dr. Viraj Desai DMD
After graduating from NYU and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), Dr. Viraj Desai wanted to open a practice in Austin that was equally focused on quality care as it was on patient comfort. SWISH Dental was established when she moved from NYC to Austin. She enjoys exploring Austin’s outdoors and thriving music scene when she’s not in the office. Besides practicing yoga, she is also a fashion connoisseur and an avid traveler.

Dr. Brendan Loehr DMD
Dr. Brendan Loehr grew up in North Carolina and Virginia and attended dental school in Boston before moving to Austin for a better work/life balance. In a patient-centered environment, he provides the highest quality dental care. In addition to helping his patients achieve their dental goals, he enjoys getting to know them on a personal level. With a background in oral cosmetics, Invisalign, and family dentistry, Dr. Loehr is an expert in full mouth cosmetic procedures.
He can be found training around the Austin area for his next big race when not working. He has completed the Boston Marathon twice and competed in the Kona Ironman Championships twice.
